csTimer Modes and Functions Explained
csTimer offers multiple modes and functions to enhance the cubing experience, from standard timing to virtual solving. Below is a breakdown of each mode and what it does.
1. Timer (Standard Mode)
-
This is the default timing mode.
-
You can start and stop the timer using the spacebar or mouse.
-
Works well for general cubing practice and official-style timing.
2. Typing Mode
-
This mode is for manually entering times.
-
Useful when using a Stackmat timer without a direct connection to csTimer.
-
After finishing a solve, you type in the time instead of relying on automatic input.
3. Stackmat Mode
-
Allows direct connection to a Stackmat timer (Generation 2, 3, or 4).
-
The Stackmat sends solve times directly to csTimer.
-
Requires a USB audio adapter or a compatible input method.
4. MoYuTimer Mode
-
Connects a MoYu smart timer to csTimer via USB or Bluetooth.
-
Works similarly to Stackmat mode but optimized for MoYu timers.
5. Virtual Mode
-
Allows you to practice solving a cube virtually on the screen.
-
No physical cube needed—great for testing algorithms and finger tricks.
6. Bluetooth Mode
-
Allows wireless connection to Bluetooth-enabled timers.
-
Compatible with timers like the GAN Smart Timer and some MoYu timers.
7. qCube Mode
-
A 2D virtual cube simulation for solving and training.
-
Helps visualize moves without a physical cube.
-
Useful for algorithm practice and recognition training.
8. GanTimer Mode
-
Specific mode for GAN Smart Timers (GAN Halo, GAN Timer).
-
Uses Bluetooth to sync solve times directly to csTimer.
9. Last Layer Training Mode
-
Focuses on Last Layer solving practice.
-
Likely scrambles the cube so only the Last Layer needs solving.
-
Ideal for OLL/PLL/ZBLL training.
